Empowering Your Career

What is a career?

It may be your vocation, a plan you've had laid out since long before you left school or in many cases, a succession of jobs, some lasting longer than others. Whatever your career looks like, when you decide to look for 'pastures new' or the next step on the ladder, you'll be navigating a competitive job market, some even liken it to swimming with piranhas!

Job application processes are constantly evolving. Being well prepared with a great CV, to have successful interviews and handle any assessments that you may be asked to complete confidently will put you in the best place to be offered the role.

And as they say, 'that's where we can help!'

What is a great CV ?

Well it isn't the story of your life, but it sort of is.

A great CV is your work history laid out as a recruiter needs to read it and probably after AI has done the first read of it when you apply for a role. So that means it needs to be clearly laid out, show the information they want to see, not be too long and most importantly make you look like someone they want to interview for the role they need to fill.

Simple then. Why would you need an expert to help with that? Because as experienced recruiters we know what it needs to look like, what needs to be included and more importantly what doesn't. Whatever your industry or the length of your career the fundamentals remain the same.

Your CV is the key to how you spend most of your time. Why wouldn't you consult an expert?

Time for the interview

You're doing well! Your CV has got you over the first hurdle.

In many cases the interview is the next challenge. This should be the easy bit shouldn't it, you know they like your background because they've invited you to meet them. A first meeting is very likely to be virtual, something you may not have done before and with it's own complications, least of all with your internet connection.

The in person meeting will more than likely be the next stage if you progress, so that online interview is really important.

As in all things, preparation is key. Back to where we come in again!

We'll make sure you are your most prepared before an interview, confidently responding to even the most difficult questions about your career without telling a long story.

Assessments

Oh no, not assessments! These can crop up at almost any stage in a recruitment process, sometime even before the first interview. They can be personality profiles, numeric or verbal reasoning tests, presentations or a full day of tasks and role plays. Being prepared for these is as important as for an interview, your skills are being measured for role suitability, cultural fit and potential.

Job offers

Congratulations! You've made it to the end of the process and are the winner! With all the work you've put in to get to this point, you may even have received more than one job offer. Deciding which to accept and handling a negotiation now is so important. Guess what, we can help with this too!
